Shop at Safeway or Vons?

Mealime’s team is moving its recipes to Meals Hub, inside Albertsons Companies’ grocery apps. It’s free, and if you shop there it may be all you need. Exact Eats is for everyone else, and for anyone who wants a week built around exact numbers and the constraints they actually live with.

Questions from the move

Switching from Mealime

When does Mealime shut down?

Mealime’s own notice says the app is discontinued as of October 21, 2026, and that all personal data is deleted when it shuts down. Paid subscriptions are being wound down, so Pro subscribers aren’t charged again before then.

Can I import my Mealime recipes or plans?

Not directly. Mealime’s notice doesn’t offer an export, so there’s no file to bring over. Rebuilding your setup here takes about two minutes, and you can type the names of your favorite dinners into your first plan request so the week is built around them.

What’s the switcher offer?

30 days of Exact Eats Pro, free, with no card. Claim it by November 30. After 30 days, add a card to keep Pro for $14.99/month, or do nothing and you move to the free plan. There’s nothing to cancel.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan makes one 3-day meal plan with its shopping list, so you can see how it works. Pro plans full weeks, as often as you like, with meal swaps, recipe remixing and cook mode.

Is there an app for my phone?

Exact Eats runs in your phone’s browser. Add it to your Home Screen (in Safari: Share, then Add to Home Screen) and it opens full-screen like an app.

Where did the Mealime recipes go?

Mealime says its recipes are moving to Meals Hub, which is free inside the Albertsons Companies store apps (Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco and others). If you shop there, it’s worth a look. Exact Eats doesn’t have Mealime’s recipes; it writes plans around your household instead.

Is Exact Eats affiliated with Mealime?

No. Mealime is a trademark of its owner. Exact Eats isn’t affiliated with Mealime or Albertsons Companies. We built this page for people looking for a new home for their weeknight dinners.
